Choose the best description for the real number 35 Squared A. Irrational, because it is not a terminating or repeating decimal B. Irrational, because it is a repeating decimal C. Rational, because it is not a terminating or repeating decimal D. Rational, because it is a repeating decimal
@rock_mit182 can you plz help me with this problem.
@welshfella
so it is not a rational number because it doesn't end.
c
no thats wrong Missey and don't say the answer.
yes i know it's not a rational it is one of the irrationals but im not sure which one it is
so spring if you put that into a calculator it never stops. the only reason it does is because there is not enough room on a calculator when the number is infinite and never terminates
an example of a problem that ends with a terminating rational number is 5/2. you get 2.5.. That's it.
but for square route of 35 = 5.9160797830996160425673282915616 <-- doesn't stop here goes infinetly.
so whcih one of the irrationals is it? @Theonefatcat
for example pi is irrational : 3.141592653589793238... and goes on and on ..
while 1/3 = 0.333333 and so on but 1 over 3 is not irrational. just because can be expressed as a fraction
is mine A or B? I mostly think it is B but im not sure
it is B
i think it is A
if you have a repeating decimal at some point is rational
while if you have decimals that are not reapeating till infinity is irritional
