do you now know WHY it is 'volcanic island arcs' ?

If not you have just wasted your time and if asked a similar question you would be no better off.

Why not use the time read and research the subject? you'd then be better off in many ways - not least you would get the right answer, but more important - you would gain some useful - or just interesting - knowledge
