Mark simplified three over five divided by five over eight.; his work is shown below. Identify where he made his error. Original division problem: three over five divided by five over eight. Step 1: three over five multiplied by eight over five. Step 2: three times eight over five times five. Step 3: twenty-four over five. Step 4: four and four over five.
its step 2 right?
its step 2 or step 1. step 3 or 4 are not wrong.
when dividing fractions, you have to keep the rule in mind. the KCF rule- Keep, Change and FLIP. Keep the first fraction, change the sign and flip the second fraction. So it becomes- 3/5 x 8/5
so multiply the denominators and numerators and simplify the fractions
ermmm i dont know.. i just know its either step 1 thats wrong or step 2..
3/5 x 8/5 = 24/25 . can you simplify this anymore?
yes it becomes 4 4/5
thats step 4
which is correct
did u get that right?
yeah im pretty sure..
try it!
24 goes into 5 4 times. 24 because 20 goes 4 times into 5 then remainder of four.
24/25 is not 4 4/5
guitar i dont know where u got 25 from.. read the steps.
Step 1: three over five multiplied by eight over five. Step 2: three times eight over five times five. Step 3: twenty-four over five. Step 4: four and four over five.
Thats only for improper fractions like if it were 25/24. Its 24/25.
but where did u get the 25.
Step 3: twenty-four over five.
yup.
ok step 3 is wrong then.. right?
thats the answer i got.
Simplify −0.6(−6.3). −3.78 −3.63 3.63 3.78
so sure. try it!
