Which of these statements regarding acceleration and velocity is false? "When the acceleration is negative, the velocity can be either negative or positive." "When the acceleration and velocity are in opposite directions, the particle slows down." "When the acceleration is negative, the velocity must also be negative." "When the acceleration and velocity are in the same direction, the particle speeds up."

You know its either A or C just from reading it. When acceleration, it just means velocity is decreasing (slowing down.)

OpenStudy (blackstreet23):

yeah i deduced that, however, I do not know which one is between those 2

When acceleration is negative, it means velocity is decreasing. (slowing down) Sorry to forgot add negative earlier Lets say a positive velocity is heading at a right direction. A negative velocity would head at a left direction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So we can slow down at any direction.

yes it was c !
