I really need help please! What does a chemist mean by a " microscopic view" of the world, and why is taking such a view important to a chemist?

OpenStudy (greatlife44):

" Microscopic" Chemists want to understand how reactions occur at the molecular level, meaning, the aspects of a chemical reaction that can't be seen with the visible eye. They want to understand how bonds in molecules are broken, how molecules react with one another, the mechanisms behind these processes and how they lead to a product. Chemists want to know what's going on beyond the physically visible things. Sometimes a chemist will use instruments like H NMR and IR spectroscopy, two methods used to figure out the structure of molecules. I won't go into these too much.
