Just off the top of my head, I'll define your options and then state what I would suggest the answer might be. Purpose - is why you would want to run the experiment; what question is your experiment going to answer Experiment - is the performance of the study during which you find the results to your question Analysis - you look at the results of your study and compare them to your expectations and make some conclusion about how the experiment answers your initial question Hypothesis - the expected results of the experiment In my opinion, you would evaluate your experiment during the analysis phase (when you are analysing/evaluating your results).
