Why do you think there are so many branches of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism?

Many societies developed differently over time and therefore began to practice religion differently. New ideas are incorporated into religion when immigrants from other societies arrive, and societies adapt to new challenges and events within their areas. Some people may be unhappy or uncomfortable with the way their religion is practiced in a certain region, and they may start a new branch that incorporates new beliefs and practices.
