Can someone check my work? (x^2 - x - 2)/(x+1). I simplified to (x+1)(x - 2)/(x+1). Crossed out the (x+1)'s to find a hole at -1.

I'm supposed to find an ordered pair so I plugged -1 into the simplified equation and got undefined since it's dividing by zero?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

You have it correct. `(x^2 - x - 2)/(x+1)` simplifies to `x-2` and there is a hole at `(-1,-3)` Plug `x = -1` into `x-2` and you'll find that the y coordinate is `-3`

I see, thanks!
