well you're not online so i'll start synthetic division you have to solve the divisor for x x-1=0 add one both sides x=1 |dw:1442283253161:dw| write the coefficient of x^2-4 as you can see i wrote 0 that's for 0x x term isn't in the question but we have to write highest to lowest degree like x^3,x^2,x+constant
