OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

For a set of data, how is the IQR determined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Interquartile range

OpenStudy (anonymous):

minus the lower quartile from the upper quartile

OpenStudy (kropot72):

An explanation and a worked example can be found here: http://stattrek.com/statistics/dictionary.aspx?definition=interquartile_range

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

no

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

@kropot72 so, hows this for a answer? a measure of variability, based on dividing a data set into quartiles.

OpenStudy (howard-wolowitz):

or do i need more details you think

OpenStudy (kropot72):

It is not possible for me to judge how much detail is needed and how much can be omitted. To be on the safe side, I would assume that an explanation is being given to someone who has no prior knowledge of quartiles.
