go to this link http://www.nature.com/ijo/journal/v38/n7/full/ijo201423a.html Can you help me find a brief description of the research study to help me to identify the health behavior and target population of interest (purpose, methods, & results – abstract) • a discussion of the theory and its major components • a discussion of the application of theory in the study (including how the authors measured the constructs – what questions did they ask? • the strengths and weaknesses of using this theory in the study
Obesity is a major public health issue beacuse childhood obesity increases the risk of becoming obese in adulthhood and a number of other higher chances of diseases becomeing more susceptible. According to (APHA, 2014) one in every three chilren are considered over overwieght in the U.S. and over 112,000 deaths per year are obesity-related. There are many factors that are associated with obesity. They are genetic, metabolic, behavioral, environmental, cultural, and socioeconomic influences. Behavioral and environmental factors play a large role in obesity. They measrued the difference between the children in different schools, one was in a clean enviornment and location and the other was with very little physical equipment. The purpose of this study was to find long temn preventative strategy to promote physical activitys in adolecence. They did this by doing several trials. They first did a study on 732 students from eight middle schools. Ninety-one percent of eligible students accepted to participate in the trial. At the 30-month post trial follow up, body mass index and fat mass index, were measured in 531 adolescents. The after affects when interveing were maintained at the post-trial follow-up. They found that the school based socioecological approach targeting behavior and social/environmental influences on physical activity prevented four years of weight gain in adolence.
this is my summary. but i need more info. if you guys can help me out
since this is long and im kinda lost ask ppl in the english group chat
yea im lost to
use ask a librain .com! :) it is very helpful i am really sad rn i cant think straight really! :)
Hmm.
I'm going to work on it for a while, I'll see how I can help. :3
I can only help you with one question you have which mean discuss a theory and its major components, so The main story of this, was that the a group decided to make a survey for a student behavior and thinking it could be caused by their weight, which however can be true. I think that personally that student behavior can be different when they are being judge by their own weight, I however have that same problem as well, but than the person judgement help me work hard on losing weight and it made me positive for who i am, and the theory was that it seem that by scientific, that when a child is judge by his or her weight, they created conflict or anger from other people statement I think it can be control by not let them stop you. :)
that all i can help you with, Just do your best! okay? :)
so are you looking to find the reliability of the study or are you writing your own essay based on the study?
Well it could be either, but the teacher says the majority of it has to be our own and I need help
This is kind of like a science paper. They want a a theory based on the subject and evidence that the theory supports. The best way to do this is take some notes and decide want yur theory is and support it with relevant details.
Here is a foundation for your "ecological view" Ecological models indicate that interventions targeting determinants at all levels, including environmental changes to reduce the barriers limiting the adoption of an active lifestyle, offer the best chance of sustained PA changes. Such strategies may also contribute to reducing the gaps in social15 and environmental16 inequities associated with obesity. If not limited to the school setting and integrating other dimensions of the ecological model such as co-participation and community partnering,17 they have the potential to increase not only leisure PA (LPA) but also non-exercise PA (for example, active transport), and to reduce sedentary behavior (SB). This is crucial given that a growing number of data shows that insufficient non-exercise PA and SB are associated with overweight/obesity, independent of the time spent exercising.18, 19, 20 These behavior changes may also be easier to maintain for the less active subjects.
im still here
