Well they had me answer two questions, and the first question was. "In a response of two to three sentences, explain how the action described in the following lines helps show Grendel as a monster." "But on earliest occasion he quickly laid hold of A soldier asleep, suddenly tore him, Bit his bone-prison, the blood drank in currents, Swallowed in mouthfuls: he soon had the dead man's Feet and hands, too, eaten entirely." Which I answered, "Grendel is a evil spirit. Who basically exists in the dark with a fierce anger within him." Then the second question was, "In a response of two-three sentences, explain how the following lines contribute to Beowulf's characterization as a hero." "The liege-kinsman worthy Of Higelac minded his speech of the evening, Stood he up straight and stoutly did seize him. His fingers crackled; the giant was outward, The earl stepped farther." Which I answered, " He fought a monster, and was legendary for his travels and adventures. Think about the fact that even though he's been faced with several obstacles, he confidently believes that he will manage them."

Your answers are a bit clumsy but you are on the right track. Question 1: focus on the imagery some more. How is the author constructing the image of a monster? For example. This monstrous act of violence serves to clearly elicit the unstrained and uncompromising barbarity of Grendel as he grabs the sleeping warrior and devours him ‘entirely.’ Question 2 is ok "He fought a monster, and was legendary for his travels and adventures. Think about the fact that even though he's been faced with several obstacles, he confidently believes that he will manage them." Maybe add ‘Beowulf reflects his boast from that evening and is determined to fulfil it.’ It’s just a more concise way of putting it. But you are right in reflecting on his past actions. Good job.
