Hi! Are you guys doing an action regarding OpenStudy users who are below 13 years old? :)
Yes when you find someone who is 13 or younger please report it :D
Thank you for your response! I'm new here, so I don't think how things work. :)
someone not knowing how to divide is not sufficient evidence to prove that they are below 13 ....
What evidence do you want then? A birth certificate?
just them admitting is enough
When I help someone with adding negative numbers together, then it's pretty obvious.
Openstudy allows people younger than 13, otherwise @Jaynator495 wouldn't be on here.
@Conqueror Observing the way you respond to his mistakes, it looks like you wouldn't be on here either.
LOL
if they admit they are under 13, they are banned. If they want to get unbanned, lets say they were joking, then they have to prove their age.
Well, I showed a moderator a girl who said on her profile she was 12 and the mod said he didn't want to ban her.
So you're kind of giving false information.
then the second condition is: depends on the mod
if you really want them to get banned, you go tell eric other mods might be lazy :)
Eric bans them for 123456789 hours or something.
even turingtest banned for longer than that by request x'D
xD
yep, i had him suspend that one person by 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 hours... good times XD
Tkhunny did better.
This kid admitted that he's in 5th grade, but the Moderator obviously didn't care. I wish there were better moderators.
whats wrong with being 13 yrs or younger? I mean they need help to
@Bossvideogamer21 According to COPPA, we cannot allow under-aged users. We would be fined.
This Site is intended solely for Users who are thirteen (13) years of age or older. Any registration by, use of or access to the Site by anyone under 13 is unauthorized, unlicensed and in violation of these Terms of Use. http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions
\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Maharot I wish there were better moderators. \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) We all do.
I am 7, am I allowed here? ;)
.-.
absolute void ;)
lol
Who cares if someone is in the 5th grade ? What if he got held back ?
;)
So that's what Conq was afraid to tell us. Why did you get held back Conq? ;)
o-o
Are 13 and below not allowed to use OpenStudy?
No.
13+
The answer to that question is yes.
If I see someone being castrated from OpenStudy social group by their inability to perform basic arithmetic, then I will, without warning, send off a profile and interfere. I will reach out to Moderators and directly speak with Preetha if it becomes an ongoing issue. We do not discourage anyone, may it be a mental challenge someone has to overcome, dyslexia, aspergers, autism, or simply have trouble conceiving mathematics notions. Calling someone a child, or, "too young to be here," simply by their struggle with numbers is asinine. The important part is that they're making an effort to learn and better themselves. Now, that being said, you should at no point condescend anyone by calling them children or, "too young to use OpenStudy." Even if it's basic. e.g., "what is 2 - 3 x 5?" Maybe they don't understand PEMDAS or are unfamiliar with the number system. However, sufficient evidence for COPPA Violations do include - Self Admission (admitting), whether this be in a message, post, or their profile - Information elsewhere, (e.g., they show an ID, or legal form of ID to someone off or on OpenStudy, and the matter is brought to the Admins) - Administrative Decision (e.g., an Admin reserves the right to issue a suspension, or ban, based on their belief and their belief alone. An Admin does not need a reason nor a justification). There is no test. There is no games or ways to tell other than hard; raw evidence. It is best that we just help student and leave the moderation to our staff. Thanks.
Best answer yet. :')
Forgive my broken English, I am on a broken keyboard.
\(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @nicktid Are 13 and below not allowed to use OpenStudy? \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @TheSmartOne The answer to that question is yes. \(\color{#0cbb34}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Umm TSO...you misunderstood. "Are 13 \(and\) below not allowed to use OpenStudy?" 13 yr olds are allowed. Not 12 and under.
well what about Nnesha hes not 13 or older
and what about people who are almost 13?
i dont think this should be a rule beacause there are some users on here who are under 13 and have been very helpful like for example @Nnesha
oh OH! thank you thank you thank you !! :'') tears of happiness
there are lots of people on this site who are under 13 and they have been really helpful sometimes it seems we teach them but really they appear to be teaching us
oh and ur welcome @Nnesha
if u dont change this rule i will leave this site forever and i will leave a bad review and then i will make lots and lots of new accounts and then leave bad reviews with all of them then i will get lots of other people to leave bad reviews and personally i dont care if this site gets fined if u dont change this rule i will make sure this site gets fined!
is that a good thing to do ?
well yah i dont want u to get banned or the other people who are under 13
but @Nnesha if i and u get banned i will make a new website and everyone in the world will be allowed on that site
that's not a appropriate way.
oh okay thanks. :D
alright i wont do it i promise
can i still leave a bad review if they dont change the rule
i just think its messed up
i mean people who are younger than 13 need help to right
We do this because we have to. It's not legal and therefore we must. Don't take it the wrong way, but it's not really based on emotion or how helpful people are. If there is proof that they are under-aged then they will be banned.
Also, Nesha isn't under 13.
yes right `Nesha` isn't under 13.
Nnesha okok :(
Nnesha is over 13... and you can leave bad reviews where? This site won't get fined for following the laws.
@bossvideogamer21, Nnesha is over 13, and isn't a guy..
no he isn't if he was he wouldn't put pictures of little kids
@Bossvideogamer21 What? Pooja is also over 13 and puts pictures of children. I'ts weird but it's not strictly for people under 13.
