Write the equation of the function g(x) if g(x) = f(x + 2) + 4 and f(x) = x3 – 7.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think i plug in (x+2) +4 into the f(x) equation. But idk what to do with the 4 because its outside the parentheses

\[\large g(x) = [\color{blue}{f(}\color{red}{x+2}\color{blue}{)}]+4=[\color{blue}{(}\color{red}{x+2}\color{blue}{)^3-7}]+4\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i did (x+2)(x+2)(x+2) -7 + 4 x^3+4x^2+4x+2x^2+8x -7 +4 x^3+6x^2+12x+8 - 7 +4 (x^3+6x^2+12x) +1 +4 x(x^2+6x+12) + 5
