Help with two questions D: I dunt understand D:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the length of nina's garden is 3ft longer than twice its width, can you turn this into an equation?

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

let the width be \(w\) and the length \(\ell\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is replacement sets I don't need an equation i just need to find out which number is the variable (as i learned in my class) that's all.. So is 8 right or no??

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

you need to express the length, in terms of the width, as described by the words in that sentence

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I wasn't told that part so now I'm kinda lost :/

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the length of nina's garden is 3ft longer than twice its width, = \(\ell\) is 3ft longer than twice \(w\), =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay but then what do I need this for then??

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

you have to work out the steps in the right order, that comes later

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know why but I was told that you have to use the problem they gave you in the second part to find the answer. -.-

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

The first three sentences of the problem are there for a reason. And they are the First three sentences because you have to read them First, and understand them, Before you can go on to the Next paragraph. The next paragraph doesn't make any sense at all without the first three sentences in the first paragraph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh well okay

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

so, can you express the length, in terms of the width,

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so it's basically LxW

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

the fence is the length of the perimeter, (not the area of the garden)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay then

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

plz tone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

brb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 * 9 + 2 * (2 * 9 + 3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did u get it yet or u need help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nevermind @UnkleRhaukus I actually had to use the problem they gave me in the second paragraph And yes I got the answer
