When simplifying terms like this, you should always combine "like" terms. 7 - x +3x -2 - 8x In this expression, like terms are -x, 3x and -8x If you add these three terms, you'll get: -6x Another like terms are 7 and -2, add these two together, you'll get 5 Therefore your answer will be 5-6x :) Hope this will help in the future.
