V is the voltage of the voltage source, and R is the internal resistance.

when on open circuit the voltage on the terminal will be equal to the voltage of the voltage source (V). 

When on short circuit, you can find the value of R since you know V and I. 

now connect the 2ohm resistor and again find the Current flowing with using V=IR
