Which of the following is an arithmetic sequence? -2, 4, -6, 8, ... -8, -6, -4, -2, ... 2, 4, 8, 16, ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To know if the sequence is arithmetic, you have to determine the difference between adjacent numbers in the set. If all the difference are the same, then it is arithmetic. For example you have 3,5,7,9 the difference between adjacent numbers is 2

OpenStudy (slayer8001):

so it would be b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's try the first set... What is 4-(-2)? -6-(4)? 8-(-6)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. That will be right. Difference is 2 :)

OpenStudy (slayer8001):

ok thanks
