Ok. So we know that the area is 42. And we also know that the height is 6 or less. Normally whenever people try to figure out the area of a trapezoid, they combine the two bases, divide it by 2 and then multiply it by the height.

To do a reverse effect, try dividing 42 by 6.

Ok. That's the bases combined divided by two, if you undo the dividing (7 x 2 = 14) then chances are, the longer base is bigger than the height.

Well, even when they were divided by 2, it was still bigger than 6, and the height could very well be less than 6. And because the longer base has to be...well, longer, it's definitely more than 7.
