OpenStudy (meehan98):

A basket contains 6 apples and 5 oranges. Determine whether the events of picking an apple first and then an orange without replacement are independent or dependent. Then identify the indicated probability.

OpenStudy (meehan98):

I know that it's dependent, but I keep getting 6/11 X 5/10= 30/110, but that's not the right answer.

OpenStudy (dm91):

ok so you need to find out that the total is right?

OpenStudy (meehan98):

Yea, the probability.

OpenStudy (meehan98):

If it helps at all, these are the possible choices: dependent: 30/121 dependent: 3/11

OpenStudy (dm91):

is there any other choices because that will help me out

OpenStudy (meehan98):

Oh my goodness, I know how to do this! Divide by 10 and get 3/11! Never mind! I had a blonde moment..Thanks for your help!
