I'm not getting that. What did you do?

OpenStudy (thats_kyy):

Idk I Trying to understand i dont need an answer i just need understanding

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well to start with, all your numbers are in different units, so you need to convert everything to the same unit. Since all the answers are in feet, convert cubic yards to cubic feet and inches to feet. Using the conversion factors in the problem. How many feet are 3 inches?

OpenStudy (thats_kyy):

1 yard

OpenStudy (thats_kyy):

0.25 sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right, so the depth is 0.25 ft. Now convert the $/cubic yards to $/cubic ft. 1 yard = 3 ft, so for volume (1 yd)³ = (3 ft)³, meaning 1 yd³ = 27 ft³ So instead of $98/yd³ the price is $98/27 ft³

OpenStudy (thats_kyy):

and you divide that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

total price = unit price * volume \[$72.59 = \frac{$98}{27 ft³}(10 ft)(0.25 ft)*w\] solve for w
