How to find the value of cot(130 degrees) using the unit circle.
@mathmate
You will see that 130\(^\circ\) does not appear explicitly in the unit circle (unless you meant 135). You would go back to the definition of cot(x) = cos(x)/sin(x), which means cot(130)=cos(130)/sin(130). Be sure to include the sign of the values of sin(x) and cos(x).
Did you get -0.98? I'm so confused.
No I don't. Can you explain how you got -0.98.
I have no idea how to do this so since you said cos(130)/sin(130 I assumed it was division.
Did you get 0.39?
Are you using a calculator? If you are, set it to degrees. If you use Google, make sure your write cos(90 deg) or sin(90 deg). Measures of angles are in radians (no units) or degrees (degree is the unit). If we don't mention units, then the result is in radians. You're on the right track, just the units swayed you a little.
-0.83? :(
