Will fan and medal Which algebraic expression is equivalent to the expression below? (3x + 12) + 8x a-5x + 12 b23x c15x + 8 d11x + 12

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

3x + 12 + 8x --- parenthesis are not needed....combine like terms so what is 8x + 3x ??

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

what is 8 + 3 ?

OpenStudy (_fluffeh_):

11

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

the x's do not change when adding...so 8x + 3x = 11x. and even though 12 has no like terms, you cannot forget about it. And you cannot add/subtract unlike terms. So we end up with : 11x + 12 understand ?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

any questions at all ??

OpenStudy (_fluffeh_):

no, thank you!

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

OpenStudy (_fluffeh_):
