8 What would happen in an ecosystem without primary consumers? The populations of producers would increase. The populations of decomposers would decrease. The populations of omnivores would increase. The populations of carnivores would increase. 9 What problems would you expect to observe in an ecosystem without secondary consumers? Be sure to answer this question in paragraph form using complete sentences. 10 Why are producers important to energy transfer within an ecosystem? Be sure to answer this question in paragraph form using complete sentences.

OpenStudy (ilovepurple42043):

primary consumers are the organisms that eat the producers. so without the primary consumers eat the producers, the number of producers will probably increase.

OpenStudy (ilovepurple42043):

If there were no secondary consumers, there would be an increased population of primary consumers. Since primary consumers are herbivores, they would be eating plant life (producers) at a much higher rate. This could lead to many implications. Plant life may be threatened. Which would cause increased difficulty for primary consumers to survive after they overpopulate. If plants are over consumed, microorganisms that rely on plants as hosts (either parasitic, or many times symbiotic) will suffer. If those plants are flowering, local bee and pollinator populations can also be affected. Overpopulation of primary consumers can lead to diseased of primary consumers. since there would be more of them. They could also encroach on new territory an harm wildlife in another area. Loss of plant life can lead to erosion and loss of land nutrients, along with any farming capability. Can also be desert forming. Hope this helps

make sure you dont type word for word what i send u bcuz your teacher will check and see that u copied from here.

Producers take energy from the Sun and transform it into organic molecules rich in carbohydrates, lipids and sugars. Main producers in aquatic ecosystems are algae and in terrestrial ecosystems - plants.
