Which sentence uses punctuation correctly? A. After dinner, we will play a board game. B. After dinner we will play a board game. C. After dinner we will play, a board game. D. After, dinner we will play a board game.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is definitely not D, since the comma is placed incorrectly. If you read D and C aloud with the pauses, it doesn't sound right at all. But, if you read A out loud, it sounds right. B just goes too quickly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah A Sounds Right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Therefore, the answer is A. Before dinner, we will play a board game. You usually add commas in sentences that state time in the beginning. Examples: After lunch, I will see Tiffany. During my walk, I saw a squirrel.

Which sentence uses punctuation correctly A. Beneath the tall tree the family ate, a picnic of fruit and muffins. B. Beneath the tall tree, the family ate a picnic of fruit and muffins. C. Beneath the tall tree the family ate a picnic of fruit and muffins. D. Beneath the tall, tree the family ate a picnic of fruit and muffins.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it may be "B'. The other answer choices pause/don't pause in the wrong places! The best trick for this is to read each sentence aloud to see if they sound natural :)
