The impact of the Plessy vs. Ferguson rulings upheld separate but equal right under the laws in America. It is the same law that made it legal to discriminated against Afro-Americans in the late 19th century and for the first half of the 20th century, until Brown vs. Board of Education in 1950's was passed, and the desegregation laws passed in the 1960's by president LBJ.
