What is the value of (x+4)(x-5) when x=5?

OpenStudy (whovianchick):

(x+4)(x+5) (5+4)(5+5) (9)(10) 90

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wait a second, was that meant to be x-5 or x+5 at first?

OpenStudy (theloshua):

(x+4)(x-5) (5+4)(5-5) (9)(0) =0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it was x-5 then it would go (5+4)(5-5) which is (9)(0) which equals 0

OpenStudy (whovianchick):

My bad I thought it was a plus sign good job @Theloshua I totally flubbed

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it was x+5 then you are correct

OpenStudy (theloshua):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
