OpenStudy (trwatkins1):

"He came up again sputtering and clinging to the wood like a rat, but for all his efforts he could not scramble on top. Every time he tried, the barrel rolled round and ducked him under again. It was really empty, and floated light as a cork. Though his ears were full of water, he could hear the elves still singing in the cellar above. Then suddenly the trapdoors fell to with a boom and their voices faded away. He was in the dark tunnel floating in icy water, all alone...."

eny ideas ???????????????????????????????/

OpenStudy (dehelloo):

It's between B and C obviously, due to the last sentence 'He was in the dark tunnel floating in icy water, all alone...."

OpenStudy (trwatkins1):

savanna eny idea

OpenStudy (trwatkins1):

dehello what whould you choose?

OpenStudy (dehelloo):

The first part of the extract delivers quite a frantic and chaotic feel as it describes someone clinging to a barrel to not drown. Whereas the last part is wistful and sad as he reflects on the elves elves still singing in the cellar in contrast to him being all alone in 'icy water.' Honestly I'm inclined say B. Hopefully someone else can chip in as well.
