Based on the graph below, what are the solutions to the equation f(x) = g(x)? graph of function f of x equals 3 times x minus 1. Graph of function g of x equals x cubed minus 3 times x squared minus 4 times x plus 12 x = −2.4, 1.4, 3.9 x = −2.4, 0.25, 1.4 x = −2, 2, 3 x = −2, 1, 3

List the 3 points where they intersect Then write down the x coordinates of each point

I agree, the answer is ` x = −2.4, 1.4, 3.9` the left most intersection has x between -3 and -2, so -2.4 is a good guess the middle one is between x = 1 and 2. So 1.4 is good enough the right intersection point is between 3 and 4, closest to 4, which makes 3.9 a good guess

Tabitha wants to hang a painting in a gallery. The painting and frame must have an area of 58 square feet. The painting is 7 feet wide by 8 feet long. Which quadratic equation can be used to determine the thickness of the frame, x? Image of a frame 7 feet wide by 8 feet long, with an of x on the bottom and right sides x2 + 15x − 2 = 0 x2 + 15x + 58 = 0 4x2 + 30x − 2 = 0 4x2 + 30x + 58 = 0
