A gray-scale digital camera with 1,000,000 pixels takes a picture (the picture is made of 1,000,000 parts and each part has a certain amount of gray). A histogram is made where the data is the amount of gray in each of these parts. The histogram looks bell-shaped with a mean of 125 gray levels and a standard deviation of 15. How many pixels are brighter than 163 gray levels? 5000 10,000 160,000 50,000

oe can someone help

OpenStudy (dan815):

125 +k *15= 163 k is telling you the number of standard deviations above you need to go to get 163

OpenStudy (dan815):

usually they call that K as Z and say its the Z score

OpenStudy (dan815):

38/15 = Z score a little higher than 2.5 lets say

OpenStudy (dan815):

look at a z table and see what probability that z score is use a calculator 38/15

@dan815 what would i type in calculator
