If the narrator of a fictional piece is not a character in the story, which statement about the narrator is true? The narrator of the work is always known as the speaker. The narrator is the historical author of the piece. The narrator speaks using an authorial voice. The narrator will speak from a third-person point of view.

D, the narrator is third-person. If it's third person, then it's a 'they did this'. First person is 'I did this' and second person is 'you did this'. So if no-one in the story is speaking then it's third-person. The rest of them are true some of the time but only D is always true.
