3x2 y4 z − 6xy − 3z(5x2) How many terms are in the expression? A) 1 B) 2 C) 3 D) 4

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Hey Randa! Terms are separated by addition/subtraction. Example: \(\large\rm 17x^2-5y^2+4z^2+74w^2x^2\) Think of this example as: \(\large\rm term1-term2+term3+term4\) 3 addition/subtraction symbols, so 4 terms in total! :) How bout with your problem? Any ideas?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Count the addition and subtraction symbols. Your number of terms will be one more than that.
