so u factored the equation nd u got-
(x-40)(x+45)=0
so
either
x-40=0 thus x=40
or
x+45=0 thus x=-45
but x is the width and it cannot be negative so x=-45 is rejected so the answer is x=40.

u must add this to ur answer to part b after you write the way u got width-

we found that width=40yards
given area=3600square yards
area of rectangular park=length*breadth
3600=length*40
dividing both sides by 40 we get-
length=90yards

answer for c part wuld be-
since x represents the width, we discard -45. The width of park is 40yards and the length is 90yards.
