Compare neap and spring tides. Give two comparisons in your answer.

Spring and Neap tides are alike because they are both affected by the gravitational pull of the moon and because they are both caused by the alignment of the earth, moon, and the sun.Spring tides are when the Moon and the Sun are perfectly aligned, in line, which gives a higher tide. Neap tide is when the Sun and the Moon are as poorly aligned as possible, making a weaker tide.

Spring tides occur approximately twice a month, when the earth and moon and sun are about co-linear. That is about at full moon and about at new moon. Neap tides occur at half moons, when the moon is off to the side of the line between earth and sun.
