Although there is no gender equality in the Middle East (including in Israel), the phenomena of sexism and misogyny are global—not peculiar to Islam, or to the Middle East... why ?

Women deserve the same rights as men no matter where they live. It has been like this for hundreds of years. This is happening in many Middle Eastern countries such as Saudi Arabia. Why women are threatened ?

@Koikkara with what youre saying some questions should/would be; Why were women threated? Why was sexism big towards women? How did women get by with the situation they were in? What factors played a part in the Middle east women and gender? How could the women start playing a more positive part situation?
