3x + 5 < 6x - 1 --- subtract 3x from both sides 5 < 6x - 3x - 1 --- add 1 to both sides 5 + 1 < 6x - 3x -- simplify terms 6 < 3x -- divide by 3 2 < x...or x > 2......I got the same thing you did
