Which of the following organelles is part of the endomembrane system? A. Centrioles B. Ribosomes C. Mitochondria D. Golgi apparatus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why u think c

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The endomembrane system includes all of the organelles involved in product exocytosis and some intracellular trafficking. Organelles include the endoplasmic reticulum, the Golgi body, various vesicles, lysosomes, and the plasma membrane. Ribosomes can also be counted, if they are attached to a member of the endomembrane system (think rough ER). Some people also include the nuclear envelope because it is involved in the early steps of protein production, and is continuous with much of the ER system.

Mitochondria are known as the powerhouses of the cell. They are organelles that act like a digestive system which takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy rich molecules for the cell.
