Can someone please help me solve this? FOIL method

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

I just don't get how to do this. Each time I try I don't get any of the given answers.

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Can you show me how you tried solving it?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

OH! Sum of the outer and inner products.... so \((11x*7)+(-7*2x)\) :) I hope this helps...

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

So the answer is 63x?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

77x-14x=63x...yes :)

OpenStudy (quickstudent):

Thanks :)

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

|dw:1442874102756:dw| So yes "inner product" means \(\large (-7 \times 2x)\) "outer product is the \(\large (11x \times 7)\) So yes...sum those up as @haleyelizabeth2017 has shown \[\large (-7 \times 2x)+(11x \times 7)\] \[\large -14x + 77x\] \[\large 63x\]
