OpenStudy (alex_mattucci):

Solve each quadratic equation by factoring. Solve: x2 − 14x + 24 = 0 I am not sure how this one works :(

OpenStudy (adi3):

any idea

OpenStudy (alex_mattucci):

I get quadratics but with three terms I kinda fall of the rails

OpenStudy (adi3):

which one

OpenStudy (adi3):

s

OpenStudy (alex_mattucci):

like this one x2 − 14x + 24 = 0

OpenStudy (adi3):

lol

OpenStudy (adi3):

do you know the formula

OpenStudy (alex_mattucci):

formula for what?

OpenStudy (adi3):

this question you have

OpenStudy (alex_mattucci):

formula for the quadratic?

OpenStudy (alex_mattucci):

@saifoo.khan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x = {-b \pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac}}/2a \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The "2a" divides underneath the entire numerator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alternatively, you can use the :Cross-method" if you are familiar with it.

OpenStudy (alex_mattucci):

Oh wait, I got it myself, You have to factor it! It turns into x=2 and x=12 as the zeros of that quadratic!
