Match each operation involving f(x) and g(x) to its answer. f(x)= 1 - x^2 and g(x) = sqrt( 11-4x) Pairs: -3 sqrt3 ------- ______ sqrt15 ------ _____ sqrt3 - 3 ----- _____ 0 ----- _____ a. (g+f)(2) b. (g * f)(2) c. (g - f)(-1) d. (f/g)(-1)
fill in the blanks
I need to pair them so what letter goes with -3 sqrt3 and so on
@mathmate
Given: f(x)= 1 - x^2 and g(x) = sqrt( 11-4x) So calculate each one and find out: (g+f)(2)=g(2)+f(2) =sqrt(11-4(2)) + (1-2^2) =sqrt(3)+-3 =sqrt(3)-3 Now look for the match. So similarly for the other 3 and try to find a match. If you don't find a match, post your work and we can take it from there.
I just realized that I already did this. Lol I posted the wrong question
Ok, that's a good sign, but what's important is you know \(how\) to solve the problem.!
Oh yes, of course. Not knowing how wouldn't help me learn at all.
Here's the question I actually needed help with right now: The total daily cost (in dollars) of manufacturing scented candles is given by the function C(b) = 250 + 3b, where b is the number of candles manufactured. Which function represents the average manufacturing cost, A, in terms of b? a. A(b) = b / 250+3b b. A(b) = 250+3b / b c. A(b) = (250 + 3b) * (b) d. A(b) = 250 + 4b Is the answer c?
