While it is no doubt true that literary analysis is an effective way of understanding a literary work in depth, it can be argued that analyzing a text takes away the enjoyment of reading it.

Which mode of reading do you prefer, reading for pleasure without any effort at analysis or analyzing as you read? Or do you prefer some other combination of reading strategies? Explain your preference.
