OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

please help....easy, i know. but im confused ! A function is created to represent the miles per gallon your car gets. What restrictions would be made to the domain? The domain would only include integers. The domain would only include positive integers. The domain would include all real numbers. The domain would only include positive numbers.

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

you cant have negative amounts of gasoline, so only positive numbers?

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

@imqwerty

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

@Hero

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

.-.

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

@Nnesha please help me understand this?

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

ugh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can I help you? are you online?

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

i am ~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So lets do process of elimination: Are you guaranteed to get and even number such as 4 or 5 or are you more likely to get a number like 8.6 or 9.4

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

more like a decimal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly! so you are not guaranteed only integers, so cross out any with only integers

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

so only positive integers ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cross out a and b because those state that you would only have integers in that domain

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

duh its restriction lol my bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok next, What are real numbers? Can you explain

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

real numbers are all rational numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly. now it says all real numbers. Would you be able to have -16.3m/g?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@kaylaprincess are you there?

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

yes

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry my computer had to update

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So can you answer my last question

OpenStudy (kaylaprincess):

i did, yes we would be able to. and no worries.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no we wouldn't

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you said it yourself, no negative numbers
