PLEASE HELP :) A newspaper reports the following changes in the temperature of a city over 4 days: 2.64 degrees Celsius, negative 2 over 9 degrees Celsius, −0.35 degrees Celsius, 5 over 8 degrees Celsius Write an expression to show the average daily change in the temperature of the city. Write the steps to solve the expression. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

Nnesha (nnesha):

how to find average ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no just answer these two questions.. Write an expression to show the average daily change in the temperature of the city. Write the steps to solve the expression. Round your answer to the nearest hundredth.

Nnesha (nnesha):

average = sum of the numbers divide by the number of numbers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that for the first answer?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes that's the formula to find average

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok um... how do i find the sum, and how do i divide by the number of numbers? :) @Nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

sum means add so add all the numbers and then divide by the number of the numbers

Nnesha (nnesha):

how many numbers are there ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i add 2.64 and 0.35?

Nnesha (nnesha):

`2.64 degrees Celsius, negative 2 over 9 degrees Celsius, −0.35 degrees Celsius, 5 over 8 degrees Celsius` ADD all of them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 2.69277778 @Nnesha

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right now how many numbers are in the list ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

`2.64 degrees Celsius, negative 2 over 9 degrees Celsius, −0.35 degrees Celsius, 5 over 8 degrees Celsius` how many numbers are there ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4

Nnesha (nnesha):

yes right so divide by 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i divide 2.69277778 / 4 like that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Nnesha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 0.67319444 @Nnesha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so whats the answer for the first question? Write an expression to show the average daily change in the temperature of the city.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and please write all the steps and show the work

Nnesha (nnesha):

average is same as slope that tells us how to data is increasing or decreasing everyday that's it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it says to write an expression

Nnesha (nnesha):

0.67319444 round nearest hundredth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but for number 1 its says to write an expression

Nnesha (nnesha):

okay so average = write all numbers / 4 how did you type into the calculator what's what you have to write

Nnesha (nnesha):

like for example \[\frac{ 2+3+4 }{ 3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to make it easier just give me the full answer for number 1

Nnesha (nnesha):

what do you mean give me the answer we already go over that just rewrite it in ur notebook.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is it?

Nnesha (nnesha):

what we just found ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the answer for number 1?

Nnesha (nnesha):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Nnesha average = sum of the numbers divide by the number of numbers \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) \(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @geny55 i got 2.69277778 @Nnesha \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) \(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @geny55 i divide 2.69277778 / 4 \(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @geny55 i got 0.67319444 @Nnesha \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) now round that to nearest hundredth

Nnesha (nnesha):

for first one write \[\huge\rm average = \frac{ (a+b+c+D )}{ total ~number }\] replace a ,b,c,d by the numbers u added and then replace total number with 4
