Create an equation written in function notation.

@AngusV would f(x) = 4x-5 be one ?

Equaltion = An equality containing one or more variables. In other words, anything that has an "x" (the letter isn't important) and an equal in it. (2x=5, x^2-6=0, even x+y=3). Function = a relationship between a set of inputs and a set of outputs. f(x) = 2 for x belonging to real numbers That means that regardless of what x you put in, the function will always be 2. f(x) = x for x belonging to real numbers That means that regardless of what x you put in, the function will always be x. f(x) = x-3 for x belonging to (3,5) That means that if the x that you put in has values between 3 and 5, the function will always be x-3. It also means that for any other values outside (3,5) your function cannot return an answer to you, because the function is undefined in that domain. Think of functions as laws - either they're universal (when x belongs to real numbers and you can put it any number in) or local (when the law only applies for certain people, certain values of x - and outside of it, it doesn't).

And yes, f(x) = 4x - 5 would be one because: a) it's an equation, it represents an equality describing at least one variable (in this case, x) b) it's a function, it represents the relationship between an input (x) and an output ( f(x) )

Thank you so much . i really appreciate it .
