Will fan and medal for correct answer: What is the x-intercept of the line with the equation -2x+1/2y=18 ? ( , 0)

Nnesha (nnesha):

x-intercept is a point where line intersect the x-axis when y =0 so substitute y for 0 then solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then the equation would be -2x+1/2*0=18 thus meaning x would have to be -9 to equal 18?

Nnesha (nnesha):

what do you mean -9 to equal 18 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=(-9)

Nnesha (nnesha):

yep right :=)
