What is the chemical formula for nitrogen dioxide gas? (please include what the are subscripts)

OpenStudy (abb0t):

when you have two non-metals, you just write them as is, cation and then anion (in that order) the prefix tells you how many of those atoms there are. Nitrogen (1), dioxide (2) di is the prefix for 2. mono = 1 di = 2 (also seen as bis) tri = 3
