Hint: Angles on a straight line adds up to 180 degrees. So equate the sum of the three angles to 180 and solve for x, hence find angle AEC |dw:1443029669365:dw|
Could you tell me how to equate the sums? I dont understand how I can find the solution for some reason, usually I am fairly good at geometry but I have been stuck on this for so long.

Assuming AED is a straight line, then 11x-12 + 4x+1 + 4x+1 = 180 degrees. So solve for x, then substitute x into (11x-12 + 4x+1) to find angle AEC
