OpenStudy (texaschic101):

turn them all into decimals.. -1 2/3 = -1.666 1.6....already a decimal -1 4/5 = -1.8 keep in mind that with negative numbers, the higher the number, the less it is..( -5 < -4)......whereas with positive numbers, the higher the number, the greater it is.. (5 > 4) Now...can you put them in order ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i put -1.666 as -1.6?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

well...in this problem you can. But if you had these...-1.6 and -1.666, they would not be the same because -1.6 is the same as -1.60 and not the same as -1.666

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup ok thnx

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

sure thing :)

can anyone else explain it more?
