OpenStudy (anonymous):

Follow PEMDAS First look at what is inside the parenthesis Then look at the exponents. Next is multiplication and division from left to right Last is addtion and subtraction from left to right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so i would first solve (-8+(-4)^2-6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-12/3 *(-8+(-4)^2-6) + 2 -4*(-8+16-6)+2 -4*(2)+2 16+2 18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok when i solved it i got 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I made a mistake.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is what i got right ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you show me you work ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No try again, look at how i solved till when i got to 4 times 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh that makes sense. so culd you tell me where i messed up ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not sure, can you show me what you did?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i actually got -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so on the 4*(-2) thats -8+2 =-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

everything else we solved the same

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get -2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh nvm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry not -2 it was -4 *2

OpenStudy (anonymous):
