Hello @boonerileycat. I'm sorry. I couldn't connect to this Website these days. I've had connection troubles. In fact, you have to use "a" in "Dile al encargado". "al" is a needed contraction in these kind of sentences. You don't say "Dile a el encargado" or " Eso es de el encargado", you have to use contractions in these sentences: "Dile al encargado" and "Eso es del encargado". You don't have to use these contractions when you're talking about a name like this: "Vamos a El Salvador", because "El" is a part of the name of this country. And you have to use "a" in "Samuel mira a Pedro" = Samuel looks at Pedro (Peter).
